The capiliary tube was about 10cm longer than the one fitted, but by foldiong it carefully, it all fitted in. I didnt think much of the plastics used in the smeg lamp/thermostat holder, it all felt pretty cheap, brittle and thin on the fridge side of things. After fitting, it took about 24 hours for the thermostat to settle and give feeback to the fridge, but all working now and stable Good fix!
